HMD, the company that makes Nokia’s feature phones, has launched a new device in India called the HMD Touch 4G. The company describes it as a hybrid phone that mixes the simplicity of a feature phone with the connectivity of a smartphone.
The Touch 4G is aimed at people who want basic smartphone features at a low price. It has a 3.2-inch touchscreen with a 320×240-pixel resolution, though HMD hasn’t mentioned what kind of display panel it uses.
HMD Touch 4G: Video calls and messaging
Surprisingly, the Touch 4G supports video calls. It comes with Express Chat, an app that allows messaging, group chats, and video calls. The app is also available on Android and iOS, so users can stay in touch with friends who have regular smartphones.
For photos, the phone includes a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.

HMD knows how much India loves cricket. The Touch 4G includes a Cloud Phone Service that provides live cricket updates, weather forecasts, and trending videos. The service works through cloud-based browser shortcuts that make it easy to access useful information.

The Touch 4G runs on a Unisoc T127 processor, which is built for low-power devices. It doesn’t use Android but runs on RTOS Touch, a Real-Time Operating System.
The phone also includes a quick call button that can be used for emergency calls or to record voice messages. Other features include Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth connectivity.
It has a removable 1,950mAh battery with USB Type-C charging, and HMD claims it can last up to 30 hours on a single charge. The phone also has an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Storage and price
The Touch 4G has 64MB RAM and 128MB of storage, but users can expand it up to 32GB with a microSD card.
